There’s Hope
Do you need hope? Do you feel unwanted or broken? Have you gone as far as you can go? Perhaps today is the darkest day you have ever faced. Friend, there is hope to be had, and I would love to tell you more!
God loves you and He desires to hear, help, and heal you. He is already aware of who, what, and where you are right now. He has also made all the necessary preparations for you to enter into a relationship with Him. Why? Love! John 3:16 declares, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God stands ready to step into your specific situation, help you, and give you a blessed hope.
Only two things are standing in your way: Sin and unbelief.
What is sin? Sin is any action that goes against the will or command of God OR the refusal to perform that which God has commanded. In Romans 3:23, we read, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” All means everyone. We have all been guilty of disobedience to the will or command of God. Can you admit that you have not lived perfectly and have sinned?
Why does sin matter? Sin separates us from God. Sin also carries a hefty penalty. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death;”. Wages are something that is earned. Based on this scripture, because we have sinned, we have earned death. Additionally, our sins have separated us from God and should we die in that condition, hell would be our eternal home. If we stopped at the semicolon, there would be no hope, BUT let’s see the verse as a whole.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
You have earned death, but God still desires to give you the gift of eternal life with Him and ultimately a home with Him in Heaven.
What can you do about your sin? On your own, nothing, but thankfully, there is hope through Christ. God required a perfect sacrifice to overcome our sin and restore us to a gracious state with Him. Jesus came willingly and bore the cross at Calvary to take away your sin because of love. Jesus died upon that cross, but after 3 days, He rose victorious over death, hell, and the grave. Now you must turn from your sin and turn towards God. This is called repentance.
If you know you are a sinner and believe that Christ is who He and the Bible say that He is, you have overcome unbelief. You just need to call on the name of the Lord and repent to be saved and to overcome your sin. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:8-9
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
